Indeed

As the Product Design Director at Indeed, I was tasked with reimagining the profile experience for our 250 million job seekers - a massive user base where even incremental improvements could drive significant impact. With over $350M in attributable revenue tied to this initiative, we knew a user-centered, data-driven approach was critical.

Our team kicked off an extensive user research phase, conducting interviews, usability studies, and analyzing behavioral data to deeply understand job seekers' needs, pain points, and mental models around profiles. Armed with these insights, we rapidly prototyped and tested dozens of concepts through an iterative design process. To validate our solutions, we launched an ambitious 55 experiments program, closely measuring key metrics like qualified user growth, conversion rates, and engagement signals.

The reimagined profile experience streamlined the entire flow based on our learnings. Major enhancements included dynamic resume-to-job matching visualizations, intuitive profile building guided by smart suggestions, and seamless application processes tailored to each opportunity. Ultimately, our human-centered redesign increased Indeed's qualified user base by 6.5% - translating to millions of improved job seeker experiences. The success reinforced the immense impact thoughtful UX can create when backed by a rigorous, evidence-based process.
