Seattle University

For the Seattle University Humanities School rebrand, the key challenge was realigning the college's brand positioning and identity to resonate with prospective students and faculty. Through in-depth interviews and research with current students, professors, and stakeholders, we uncovered valuable insights that informed a new brand strategy focused on the college's unique Jesuit philosophy and rigorous liberal arts curriculum.

The design approach centered on developing a cohesive visual language and messaging framework that brought this positioning to life. We created a new identity system with an iconic logomark, rich color palette, and typographic guidelines that evoked a sense of academic heritage alongside modern aesthetics. The website redesign prioritized clear pathways for exploring degree programs, while highlighting faculty research, student achievements, and the university's urban Seattle setting through compelling photography and storytelling.

The rebrand rollout included comprehensive brand guidelines, print collateral, campus environmental graphics, and a fully responsive website that achieved a 22% increase in program inquiries within the first six months. Qualitative feedback from admitted students cited the new brand's clarity and distinctive personality as influential factors in their decision to enroll. Overall, the project successfully repositioned the Humanities School as a dynamic, forward-thinking institution while honoring its historical roots.
